How PCSO jackpots work

Each lotto game starts from a minimum jackpot set by PCSO. If no ticket matches all six numbers, the jackpot rolls over to the next draw and grows with nationwide ticket sales — which is how jackpots reach hundreds of millions of pesos. When someone wins, the next draw starts again from the minimum. If several tickets match, they share the jackpot equally.

The jackpot figure is what PCSO lists for the draw. Winners receive it, or their share of it, minus the 20% final tax on prizes above ₱10,000 — see tax on lotto winnings and how to claim. 4D and 6D first prizes work differently: they are pari-mutuel pools with a guaranteed minimum per ₱10 play.

Frequently asked questions

How does the lotto jackpot grow?

When nobody matches all six numbers, the jackpot rolls over to the next draw and keeps growing with ticket sales. When someone wins, it restarts at the game’s minimum jackpot.

What happens if more than one person wins the jackpot?

The jackpot is divided equally among the winning tickets. Each share is then subject to the 20% tax.

What is the minimum jackpot of each game?

According to PCSO (net of the agent’s prize commission): 6/58 Ultra Lotto ₱75 million, 6/55 Grand Lotto ₱45 million, 6/49 Super Lotto ₱25 million, 6/45 Mega Lotto ₱15 million and 6/42 Lotto ₱10 million.

Is the jackpot shown here the amount a winner receives?

It is the jackpot PCSO lists for the draw. A winner receives it (or an equal share of it) minus the 20% tax that PCSO withholds on prizes above ₱10,000.
